Description
ShiftOS was an ambitious game based on the idea of a game that evolves as you progress through the story. The idea at a high-level was that you would do things inside this operating system interface to improve it and allow you to progress, unlocking new parts of the story and new ways to progress.
ShiftOS was developed by many different people over its life. It began as a project from a YouTuber known as OSFirstTimer, and was then handed over to the community as he was unable to continue development. I was co-lead of a very early team in that process of being handed over, and I would roughly estimate I was no longer involved by 2015 / 2016 or so.
Unfortunately, I'm not 100% certain on the final version I worked on, although it was probably 0.0.9 Alpha 1 based on available source code.
As part of the development team, I worked on and oversaw various additions and improvements to the game, including bug fixes, new utilities and progression being added.
After my leave from the development team, ShiftOS restarted development from scratch various times under new and different development teams, with the final version with the 'ShiftOS' name coming to an end in 2017.
